Join us for Worship with the Senses!

Join Dr. Elaine Elizabeth Belz, Adjunct Professor of Theology for a virtual workshop to discuss Liturgical Aestetic. Aesthetics is the philosophical (or theological) study of beauty, sense experience, and art. In this workshop, we'll talk about how all these elements relate to worship, focusing on ways that "what we do in church" helps us carry our faith into the world in our bodies and habits - a sort of "muscle memory" that makes us better practitioners of our faith. We will spend time sharing and reflecting on the sensory experience of worship in our different traditions, and how we might be more deliberate about nurturing a sensible experience of the Divine.
